The spool's weather: wet vs dry, at the temps the app's own timers run.
These are the app's real presets โ the same values its drying alarms ring for (the sources note the figures as blast-oven settings):
| material | temp | hours |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | 50 ยฐC | 8 h |
| PETG | 65 ยฐC | 8 h |
| ABS | 80 ยฐC | 8 h |
| TPU (95A) | 70 ยฐC | 8 h |
| PC | 80 ยฐC | 8 h |
| Nylon (PA) | 80 ยฐC (estimate) | 8 h |
The one exclusion: PCL pen filament is not oven-dried โ it softens around 60 ยฐC, so a drying box would cook it before it dried it.
Damp filament steams at the nozzle: the bubbles, the hissing sound, the stringy inconsistent extrusion. The app's alarm notification carries one line worth pinning above the printer: "bag it with desiccant while it's warm, or print it now" โ a warm spool that cools in open air just drinks the humidity again.
Nylon's row is the app's own estimate โ nylons vary widely, so the spool's label wins. The app carries this same caution right under its timer's preset.
